Ladies and Gentlemen,

from the 12th of November 2013 Galerie Kornfeld – along with the Suhrkamp publishing house and Zeitzeugen TV –

presents the German-Chilean artist Roberto Yañez.

Roberto Yañez is the grandson of Erich and Margot Honecker and son of their daughter Sonja. Roberto left Germany at

the age of sixteen, with the fall of the Wall on 9 November 1989 and the end of the GDR during the following months. His

grandfather was on the run, and his parents moved with their son to Chile, the homeland of his father. Today Roberto

Yañez lives as a painter and poet in Santiago de Chile, where he is a member of a group of surrealist artists. He now

returns to Germany for the first time in 23 years – for the occasion of three events:

On Sunday the 10th of November at 8:15 p.m. the documentary "Honeckers Enkel Roberto" by Thomas Grimm will have

its television premiere on MDR; the collection of poems "Frühlingsregen" will be published by the Insel-Bücherei; and

the Bureau of Galerie Kornfeld, Fasanenstraße 28, in Berlin-Charlottenburg will show an exhibition of his paintings for

the first time in Germany.

For the opening of our exhibition "Metamorphosen" on the 12th of November 2013 Roberto Yañez will read from his

poetry collection "Frühlingsregen", which will be presented to the public on the evening. In his texts, the artist describes

an awakening, which at the same time is a return to himself. In this transformation and return to the original state,

dream takes on a crucial importance, because it shapes the consciousness and thus also exerts a direct influence on

reality.

These ideas can also be found in the paintings of Roberto Yañez, which combine surreal and dreamlike imagery with

elements of cubism, giving rise to glowing, magical illusions. Idyllic landscapes stand alongside nightmarish motifs. The

simultaneous coexistence of different scenes lifts all restrictions of space and time.

¡80! HOMENAJE A ARMANDO URIBE

Este lunes 28 de octubre el poeta y Premio Nacional de Literatura Armando Uribe cumple 80 años

Celebran los 80 años de Armando Uribe

El mismo día de su cumpleaños, a las 19:00 horas, en la Sala Ercilla de la Biblioteca Nacional, se realizará una conferencia sobre la obra de Armando Uribe a cargo de Tomas Harris, Rodrigo Verdugo Pizarro y Paula Bustos. Además habrá una lectura poética y se mostrará un video inédito de don Armando preparado especialmente para esta ocasión.

Armando Uribe Arce (Santiago, 1933), Premio Nacional de Literatura (2004), es uno de los poetas fundamentales de Chile, miembro de la llamada generación del ’50 junto a Enrique Lihn, Jorge Teillier, Alberto Rubio, Stella Díaz Varín y  David Rosenmann Taub, entre otros.
También es abogado, fue profesor de la Universidad de Chile y la Sorbona de PARÍS y fue embajador en China  durante el gobierno de Salvador Allende.
Ha escrito más de 35 libros en diversos géneros: Poesía, ensayo, diarios, traducciones, cartas abiertas, etc.
Destacan sus libros de poemas “No hay lugar”, “Por ser vos quien sois”, “Odio lo que odio, rabio como rabio”, “Las brujas de uniforme”, “Las críticas de Chile”, “Contra la voluntad” y  “Verso bruto”, sólo por nombrar algunos; y sus ensayos “El libro negro de la intervención norteamericana en Chile”,  “Carta abierta a Patricio Aylwin” y “El fantasma de la sin razón y el secreto de la poesía”.
Reconocido como un gran intelectual  y también por sus contundentes afirmaciones y críticas a todo lo concerniente con “el ser chileno y el país”, Armando Uribe desde hace años se encuentra retirado en su departamento del parque forestal para “bien o mal morir”, según sus propias palabras.  Sin embargo, cada vez que su salud lo permite, se da el tiempo para recibir a sus amigos y otros poetas.
Es justamente en estos últimos años cuando más ha escrito. Sus libros los podemos encontrar en los catálogos de Editorial Universitaria, LOM Ediciones, Be Uve Draís, Mago y otras editoriales.
Armando Uribe nunca se ha mostrado partidario de recibir homenajes, al contrario, los evita. Sin embargo, los organizadores de este encuentro consideran que es vital reconocer a los grandes creadores en vida. Por eso mismo, tras varios intentos fallidos, don Armando Uribe accedió a este homenaje que espera “sea el primero y el último”.

El lunes 28 de octubre, 19:00 hrs, se realizará una conferencia sobre la obra poética de Armando Uribe a cargo de Tomas Harris, Rodrigo Verdugo Pizarro y Paula Bustos. Además habrá una lectura poética y se mostrará un video inédito de don Armando preparado especialmente para esta ocasión.
Tomas Harris es poeta y académico, también se desempeña como investigador en la Biblioteca Nacional. Ha publicado entre otros libros: “Cipango”, “Historia personal del miedo”, “Crónicas maravillosas” y “Noche de brujas y otros hechos de sangre”.
Rodrigo Verdugo Pizarro es poeta, estudió Literatura y es un gran estudioso de la Poesía chilena. Ha publicado el libro “Nudos Velados”, tiene en preparación dos libros de poemas. Su obra poética ha sido traducida  a varios idiomas y ha sido publicado en numerosas revistas y catálogos de Chile y el extranjero. Es uno de los fundadores del Grupo Surrealista Derrame.
Paula Bustos: Es poeta, licenciada en Literatura y profesora. Ha publicado los libros  de poesía “Ilegítima” y “Las Huachas”.
El Grupo Surrealista Derrame es en la actualidad el único colectivo de inspiración surrealista en Chile. Ha organizado múltiples exposiciones, conferencias, lecturas de poesía, publicado varios libros entre ellos “ÍDEM” de Armando Uribe, la revista “Labios Menores” y la revista Derrame cuyo último número fue considera por Armando Uribe como “una revista de categoría internacional”.
